If you're interested in history and want to get in on the ground floor of a developing museum, consider volunteering.

It took many hands to get the museum open in April, 2010, and more volunteer opportunities are opening in different areas as time goes by. Right now, we have work waiting for skilled volunteers interested in contributing to the blog, 310 Pythian Place, and help in the collections department with artifact accessioning.

TIME COMMITMENT:

A minimum commitment of three hours per week for a 3-month period is required for continuity.

Volunteer opportunities on site will be available Monday - Friday; 9:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.





QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED:

• Must be age 18 or older
• Familiar with basic computer skills
• Reliable and responsible
• Able to work independently as well as with a group
• Have a genuine interest in history
• Good organizational skills

TRAINING/ORIENTATION PROVIDED:

Training is provided on-the-job by the Birmingham History Center staff.
